The processing course of an application.
The outline of the process of an application from its submission to the final Αct.
The first step is the “Final Submission” of the application, in which case it automatically gets a “Registration Number” (R.N.)
The second step is the “Preliminary audit”, at which time the completeness of the supporting documents of the file is examined.
If the file is assessed as complete during the preliminary audit stage, it receives a “Date of Completion” and is forwarded to the competent employee.
If the file is assessed as incomplete, it is returned to the applicant to complete it, and it receives a “Date of Completion” after its completion.
The priority order is strictly observed during the evaluation process and is presumed from the “Date of Completion”.
If the request concerns academic equivalence to a 1st cycle degree, the competent employee examines whether: the foreign institute is included in the National Registry of Foreign Recognized Higher Education Institutes, the title under examination is included in the National Registry of Foreign Recognized Academic Title Types, and if there exists a similar case of recognition in the past.
If the file successfully undergoes the Administrative Audit, it is forwarded to the President for final judgment.
The President enters his judgment and sends it to the Decision Registrars, for the draft of the Act to be prepared.
The draft of the Act is forwarded to the applicant for the purpose of verifying the accuracy of factual statements (full name etc.). If the applicant has not replied in 5 days, the Act is forwarded to the President for final signature.
The final Act signed by the President is e-mailed to the applicant, in real time.
If there is no similar case, the President forwards the file to the “Evaluator”, who must submit a written justified proposal, within 15 days, whether the applicant should be charged to compensatory measures or not, and which.
In case the first Evaluator does not comply in 15 days, the President forwards the file to a second Evaluator, who must submit a written justified suggestion, within 15 days, whether the applicant should be charged to compensatory measures or not, and which.
In case the second Evaluator does not comply in 15 days, the President forwards the file to the Head of the Directorate for Academic Recognition, who must submit a written justified proposal regarding the need or not for compensatory measures specifying which. The Board of Directors takes the final decision in the base of which the Act is issued by the president.
The Evaluator is an external collaborator of DOATAP and should be member of the National Registry of Evaluators as determined in article 303 of law 4957/2022.
If the request concerns academic equivalence with a 2nd or 3rd cycle degree, the procedure is the same, except from the stage of the Evaluator which is not required.
